ICT4D Cambodia Network was invited to attend the DI’s User Training which will be take place between 21-23 August, 2018 at the Development Innovations (DI) office. 2 NGO partners on behalf of the ICT4D Cambodia Network were interested and assisgned to join include Women’s Media Center of Cambodia (WMC) and Family Health International (FHI360). The training will be facilitated by our expert from DAI Global Home Office who is a user research and digital design specialist at DAI’s Center for Digital Acceleration.

The broader goal of user research is to ensure that the problem is effectively and clearly identified, and that the solution designed based on that problem is effective for those users. In essence, it is a risk mitigation strategy; the risk being that an organization spends significant time and resources developing a solution that nobody uses because users were not engaged throughout the design process. The goal of this training is to provide participants with an introduction to user research as a methodology; how it fits into the design process; and why it is important in the context of design, whether one is designing a mobile app, web site, or social program.

By end of the training, trainees will:

–        Obtain both theoretical and practical understanding on user research methodologies
–        Be able to design a practical user research; starting from questionnaire design, field data collection and data analysis to finding presentation
–        Have an initial plan for future user research
–        Obtain skill on the use of digital data collection tool to administer the research process
